Has anybody else noticed a big speed increase in their Broadband Speed.
I have started to get speeds of about 1.9M download and 0.35 - .4M upload.  My isp is BT and I have just renewed my contract after trying to cancel, saving about £9 a month and getting a much faster service.

We moved from Tisali to Talk Talk and were at 4mb but now can't even get 1.2mb, nightmare? Angry

All suppliers are using the BT infrastructure and unless we pay for satellite broadband at £80/month we can't expect any improvement in service, seems to be fluctuate in Hargrave?

Here near the Village hall I'm getting 2.1Meg download and 448 Meg upload. I have found in the past the the filters I have used to split the telephone line from the ADSL make a big difference and degrade over time. I got a big improvement when i upgraded mine recently. Perhaps it might be worth Admins while trying a new one? I wonder if my line is up to 2.98 or even 4 meg. Would be great if it was as there are four of us sharing the line at times here.

What we really need is a well positioned microwave link to the exchange in Raunds connected to a village wide wireless network. Not sure there will be enough custom to justify it though.

Had the BT engineer out a few weeks ago who send a 500v shock down the line which got the following results:

Jun 26, 23:52 3118 kbps (390kB/s) 536 kbps (67kB/s) Share
Jun 26, 23:05 3090 kbps (386kB/s) 457 kbps (57.1kB/s) Share
Jun 26, 19:48 3061 kbps (383kB/s) 495 kbps (61.9kB/s) Share
Jun 26, 15:15 3088 kbps (386kB/s) 539 kbps (67.4kB/s) Share

he mentioned this is as fast as it would go although did mention the cable between Hargrave and Raunds was replaced when stolen last year to a smaller diameter affecting the bandwith and the speed.

I wonder if there might be enough people to club in for a communcal satellite connection?
